Mobiderm Foam Pads
The Mobiderm foam pads are an innovative product that is made from foam cubes encased between two non-woven bandages. Designed for use under compression bandages and garments, the Mobiderm foam creates a massaging effect that leads to a difference in pressure between the foam cubes and surrounding areas. This can help stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid and promote drainage. The Mobiderm foam pads are often used to treat lymphedema, edema, fibrosis and fibrotic tissue, and hematomas.

Mobiderm Foam Pads For Lymphedema
Made from small capsules of compressible material, Mobiderm foam pads were designed and developed by Thuasne to play an important role in compression bandaging. These unique foam pads help evenly distribute the gradient pressure of stretch bandages, cushion limbs and bony areas, and prevent skin irritation.
Features of The Mobiderm Foam Pads
Features of the Mobiderm foam pads include:
- - available in small foam block design (works well for smaller areas, such as hands, feet, and breasts)
- - available in large foam block design (works well for larger areas, such as arms and legs)
- - reusable
- - can be hand washed and air dried
Uses For The Mobiderm Foam Pads
Uses for the Mobiderm foam pads include:
- - lymphedema (can be used under compression bandages to help stimulate lymphatic flow and drainage)
- - edema
- - fibrosis and fibrotic tissue
- - hematomas
- - rehabilitation of areas that are critical for mobility

••••••••••••••••••FAQs About Mobiderm Foam Pads
Mobiderm foam pads are the perfect solution for targeted treatment of localized swelling or fibrosis! Soft and breathable, the foam pads make compression therapy more effective.
Below are frequently asked questions about Mobiderm foam pads.
What Are Mobiderm Foam Pads
Made by Thuasne, Mobiderm foam pads consist of small cubes that are embedded within a soft fabric. The foam pads are typically placed under compression bandages, wraps, or garments to enhance their effectiveness.
How Do Mobiderm Foam Pads Work
Mobiderm foam pads work by creating a pressure differential that helps improve lymphatic fluid movement and softens fibrotic tissue. The unique structure of Mobiderm pads (small foam cubes, arranged in a grid pattern, and placed inside a soft, flexible fabric) creates a micro massage effect. The micro massaging mimics manual lymphatic drainage and improves the effectiveness of compression bandages, garments, and wraps.
The low-pressure zones that the foam pads create help draw fluid from swollen areas, and the high-pressure zones help push fluid into lymphatic vessels, where it belongs. Over time, the repeated gentle pressure from the foam pads also helps break down fibrotic (hardened) tissue, which makes the skin softer and helps improve mobility.
With consistent use, Mobiderm foam pads can help prevent fluid buildup, maintain lymphatic flow, and reduce the risk of worsening fibrosis.
What Conditions Do Mobiderm Foam Pads Help Treat
Mobiderm foam pads are used to treat a variety of medical conditions, including:
- - lymphedema
- - edema
- - post-surgical swelling
- - post-traumatic swelling (from fluid buildup following injuries such as fractures or sprains)
- - venous insufficiency
- - lipedema
- - fibrosis (hardening of the tissue that can come from prolonged swelling, radiation therapy, or chronic inflammation)
What Is The Difference Between Small Blocks And Large Blocks In Mobiderm Foam Pads
With Mobiderm foam bandages, the “blocks” refer to the size of the foam cubes that are embedded within the fabric.
Small Block Mobiderm Foam Pads: Mobiderm small block foam pads (which have smaller foam cubes in them) are typically used for mild to moderate lymphedema and fibrosis. These foam pads provide a gentler micromassage effect, which is ideal for sensitive areas and smaller body areas.
Large Block Mobiderm Foam Pads: Mobiderm large block foam pads (which have larger foam cubes in them) are typically used for moderate to severe lymphedema and fibrosis. These foam pads create a stronger pressure differential and can be used for more intensive compression therapy and for larger body areas (such as arms and legs).
Can You Use Mobiderm Foam Pads On Any Part Of The Body
Mobiderm foam pads can be applied to various body parts, including hands, feet, arms, and legs.
Can You Wear Mobiderm Foam Pads At Night
Check with your healthcare provider, but Mobiderm foam pads are often used at night to help manage lymphedema and fibrosis while you sleep. With nighttime use of the foam pads, you will have continuous lymphatic stimulation, which helps lymphatic fluid keep moving even when you are inactive.
Can Mobiderm Foam Pads Be Used Without Compression Bandages
While they can be worn by themselves, Mobiderm foam pads are most effective when they are used with compression bandages, garments, or wraps.
Are Mobiderm Foam Pads Reusable
Mobiderm foam pads are reusable, and they can be hand washed (with a mild soap) and air dried.
What Is The Difference Between Mobiderm Foam Pads And Mobiderm Foam Bandages
Made from the same foam cubes (available in small blocks and large blocks), Mobiderm foam pads and Mobiderm foam bandages both create a micromassage effect and make compression therapy more effective. The foam pads are typically placed on a specific, targeted area of the body to address localized swelling, and they are secured with a compression bandage, garment, or wrap. Whereas, the foam bandages are designed for wrapping and are usually wrapped around arms and legs (like a traditional bandage) for full-limb compression.
Who Makes Mobiderm Foam Pads
Mobiderm foam pads are made by Thuasne, a French medical company that was founded in 1847. Many of their top products are available in the U.S., through Thuasne USA.
